God created the universe and everything in it. You were created in His image, for His glory, and with purpose. Your life is not an accident.

From the beginning, humanity was made to know God, reflect His character, live under His authority, and enjoy relationship with Him. Being made in the image of God gives every human life dignity and value, but it also means we belong to the One who made us. God is not a distant observer. He is our Creator, Sustainer, and rightful Lord. Everything we are and everything we have ultimately comes from Him.

The Bible begins with God because the Gospel begins with God. Before we can understand sin, salvation, or Jesus Christ, we first have to understand who we are in relation to our Creator. We were not created to define truth for ourselves or live independently from God. We were created to love Him, obey Him, worship Him, and represent Him in the world.

Humanity rebelled against the God who created us. Sin entered the world, and every one of us has followed the same path of rebellion. We have all fallen short of God’s perfect standard.

Sin is more than making mistakes or occasionally doing something wrong. At its core, sin is rejecting God’s authority and choosing our own way instead of His. It includes what we do, what we say, what we think, what we desire, and even the good we know we should do but refuse to do.

The problem is not simply that some people are worse sinners than others. Scripture says that all have sinned. None of us can stand before a perfectly holy God and claim that we have loved Him completely, obeyed Him perfectly, or treated others exactly as He commands.

Sin has also damaged every part of human life. It affects our relationship with God, our relationships with one another, our desires, our thinking, and the world around us. We cannot repair this problem through morality, religion, good deeds, or self-improvement. We need rescue.

Sin has a real consequence. Because God is perfectly holy and just, evil cannot simply be ignored. Sin separates us from God and places us under His righteous judgment.

The Bible says that the wages of sin is death. Physical death is part of that consequence, but the problem goes deeper. Sin brings spiritual separation from God and ultimately judgment before Him. Every person will answer to the Creator for the life he or she has lived.

This can be difficult to hear, but God’s judgment is not evidence that He is cruel. A God who never judged evil would not be truly good or just. We recognize that terrible wrongdoing deserves justice, and Scripture reveals that God’s justice is perfect, impartial, and unavoidable.

The frightening reality is that none of us can erase our own guilt. Good deeds cannot cancel previous sin, religious activity cannot make us righteous, and comparing ourselves to someone worse does not change God’s standard. If salvation depends on our own goodness, none of us can stand.

That leaves us with the most important question of the Gospel: How can a holy and just God forgive guilty sinners without compromising His justice?

Jesus Christ did what we could never do. He lived without sin, died for our sins, was buried, and rose from the dead. Through Him, guilty sinners can be forgiven and reconciled to God.

Jesus was not merely a teacher, prophet, or moral example. He is the Son of God who became truly human while remaining truly divine. He lived the righteous life we have failed to live and willingly gave Himself on the cross.

On the cross, Jesus bore the judgment that sinners deserve. He did not die for His own wrongdoing because He had none. He died for ours. God’s justice was not ignored. The penalty for sin was dealt with in Christ.

But the Gospel does not end at the cross.

Jesus was buried, and on the third day He rose bodily from the dead. The resurrection demonstrated His victory over sin and death and confirmed who He claimed to be. Jesus Christ is alive, He reigns, and salvation is found in Him.

This is grace. Salvation is not something we earn by becoming good enough. Redemption is something God accomplished through Jesus Christ and offers to sinners who could never save themselves.

God now calls you to respond to the Gospel. Jesus commands people to repent and believe the Good News. Salvation is received through faith in Christ, not earned through religious works or personal goodness.

To repent means more than feeling sorry for sin. It means recognizing our rebellion against God and turning from sin toward Him. Genuine repentance involves a change of heart and direction.

To believe means more than agreeing that Jesus existed. Biblical faith is trusting in Jesus Christ Himself, trusting who He is, what He accomplished through His death and resurrection, and relying on Him rather than ourselves for salvation.

You do not clean yourself up first and then come to Christ. You come to Christ because you cannot clean yourself up.

The Bible calls us to confess Jesus as Lord, believe that God raised Him from the dead, and place our confidence in Him. Salvation is a gift of grace. We contribute no righteousness of our own that earns God’s acceptance.

You can call upon God right now. Prayer itself does not save you, and there are no magical words that guarantee salvation. Jesus saves. You can honestly confess your sin to God, ask for His mercy, place your trust in Christ, and surrender yourself to Him as Lord.

Salvation is not the end of the story. Jesus calls those who believe in Him to become His disciples, follow Him, learn from Him, obey Him, and become more like Him.

Following Jesus means that He becomes Lord over every part of our lives. We no longer live primarily for ourselves. We learn His Word, pray, turn away from sin, obey His commands, love others, and allow the Holy Spirit to transform our character.

A disciple does not follow Jesus perfectly, but genuinely. Christians still struggle, fail, repent, learn, and grow. Our obedience does not earn salvation. It is the fruit of a life that has been changed by grace.

Jesus also calls His followers into community. Christianity was never intended to be lived alone. Believers gather together as the body of Christ to worship, learn Scripture, pray, encourage one another, serve, carry one another’s burdens, and grow together.

Baptism is also part of Christ’s command to His disciples. It publicly identifies a believer with Jesus Christ and His death, burial, and resurrection.

And discipleship does not stop with our own growth. Jesus sends His followers to make disciples of others. We share the Gospel, serve people, teach what Christ commanded, and help others learn to follow Him.

You were not simply saved from something. In Christ, you are also called into a new life, a new family, and a new mission.
