You Know What’s Wrong—So What Are You Doing About It?
You’ve seen it all before.
A broken system.
An empire built on fear and control.
A few bold souls rise up to fight back.
We cheer. We quote the lines.
We love the resistance.
But here’s the uncomfortable truth:
You were never meant to just watch the resistance.
You were meant to join it.
And you can’t truly do that until you realize—
Jesus is the Resistance.
Not just a metaphor. Not just an inspiration.
He is the leader of the only rebellion that actually overthrows the world’s evil for good.
So if you’re still standing on the sidelines, waiting for someone to give you permission—this is it.
The World Is Lying to You—and You Know It
You don’t need more evidence. You’re not blind. You’ve seen the manipulation.
You’ve watched how media, politics, and even some churches bow to cultural idols instead of Christ.
You’ve felt it in your gut:
Something is deeply off. The system is rigged. And Jesus isn’t being represented honestly in most of it.
11 Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. (ESV)
📝 You weren’t saved to be passive. You were born again to resist—with truth, courage, and clarity.
Your Favorite Resistance Stories Are Borrowing from the Gospel
The world may reject Jesus, but it can’t stop echoing Him.
Let’s break down what the movies keep retelling—and what you’re being called into.
⚔️ The Matrix – Waking up to the Lie
Neo finds out his world is a simulation.
A system built to enslave him while keeping him entertained and asleep.
📝 Welcome to the 21st century.
Jesus came to wake us up. Not just to sin—but to the system that keeps us bound.
He didn’t come to improve the Matrix. He came to destroy it.
8 Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. (ESV)
So what are you still plugged into?
⚔️ Star Wars – The Underdog vs. the Empire
The rebellion is outmatched, outnumbered, and outfinanced. But they have one advantage: truth.
Luke chooses mercy over murder. Sacrifice over hate. Light over power.
📝 This is not weakness. This is warfare.
Jesus didn’t storm Rome with a sword—He let Himself be crucified to disarm the real enemy.
15 He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him. (ESV)
⚔️ The Hunger Games – The System Demands Your Silence
Katniss didn’t start a rebellion on purpose—she just refused to be controlled.
That refusal made her dangerous.
📝 You may not be trying to start a revolution. But when you stop bowing to culture, you will become a threat.
10 For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ. (ESV)
⚔️ Braveheart – They Can Kill You, But They Can’t Own You
Wallace dies screaming FREEDOM as they tear his body apart.
That’s not Hollywood fantasy. That’s a spiritual reality.
📝 Jesus didn’t die quietly. His death shook the earth. And His resurrection split history in two.
11 And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death. (ESV)
⚔️ The Lord of the Rings – The Weight Must Be Carried
Frodo didn’t fight like a warrior. He carried the burden that would destroy others.
He walked into enemy territory and destroyed the ring from the inside.
📝 That’s Jesus. He didn’t just oppose sin—He carried it. Into the grave. And left it there.
21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (ESV)
⚔️ Narnia – The Lion Isn’t Safe, But He’s Good
Aslan offers Himself as a substitute.
But when death tries to claim Him, it breaks itself instead.
📝 That’s not just fantasy. That’s the cross.
The greatest resistance was not fought with swords—but with blood.
18 No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This charge I have received from my Father.” (ESV)
You Were Not Saved to Blend In
Here’s the part modern Christianity often avoids:
Jesus wasn’t safe.
He was hunted. Hated. Mocked. Murdered.
And He promised—if you follow Me, it will cost you.
34 “Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. (ESV)
📝 That doesn’t mean violence—it means division. A clean break from the world’s lies.
The Resistance doesn’t make friends with the system. It exposes it.
So stop trying to look Christian and stay comfortable.
That’s not how this works.
Final Thought
You don’t need another sermon. Or another movie night.
You need a sword in one hand and the Word in the other.
Jesus is the Resistance.
He’s not asking for your admiration—He’s asking for your allegiance.
So get off the fence.
Stop playing it safe.
And pick a side.
Ask Yourself:
Where have I chosen comfort over courage in my walk with Christ?
What systems of this world have I silently cooperated with instead of confronting?
