Some wounds feel too raw, too sacred, or too broken to hand over to anyone — even God. But true healing begins when we stop guarding our pain and start trusting the Healer with it.
Let's walk through how to entrust our most wounded places to the One who is both safe and mighty to heal.
God Already Sees the Depths
You don't have to hide your wounds from God.He already knows every broken place:
Every betrayal
Every abandonment
Every ache you can't even name
And still, He loves you.
To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. 1 O LORD, you have searched me and known me! (ESV)
Trust Begins with Honesty
Real trust doesn't start with pretending you're "okay."
Bring your doubts, anger, grief, and fears.
God isn't offended by your honesty — He invites it.
8 Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us. Selah (ESV)
God Heals Gently, Not Forcefully
God doesn’t rip your wounds open to shame you.He lovingly tends them to restore you.
His healing is tender.
His timing is patient.
His hands are gentle.
3 a bruised reed he will not break, and a faintly burning wick he will not quench; he will faithfully bring forth justice. (ESV)
Trust Is a Process, Not a Switch
You don't have to trust all at once.
It's okay if your trust feels shaky.
Jesus works with mustard seeds, not mountains.
20 He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.” (ESV)
How to Start Trusting God with Your Wounds
1. Name the Wound
Be specific about what hurts.
2. Confess Your Fear
Tell God why trusting feels scary.
3. Invite Jesus into That Place
Picture Him standing with you in the middle of the pain.
4. Receive, Don't Strive
Trusting God is more about receiving His love than trying harder.
5. Take One Small Step of Trust
Pray a raw prayer.
Read a Scripture even when it’s hard.
Talk to a trusted believer.
7 casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. (ESV)
God Is Not Ashamed of Your Wounds
Where you see brokenness, God sees a place for redemption.Where you see shame, He sees belovedness.Where you see ruins, He sees a future.
3 to grant to those who mourn in Zion— to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he may be glorified. (ESV)
Final Thought
Your deepest wounds are not too much for God. They are exactly where His healing power wants to meet you.
Ask yourself:
What wounded place am I still trying to handle alone instead of trusting it to Christ?
